Genre: Immigration Short Stories
Publisher: Good Times
Jude Fernandes has just released his book Frost Bites into Canada. The blurb in the publisher’s website describes this short-story collection as
“The imaginative writing from Frost Bites takes us on a swift and urbanely witty Canadian-Indian tour of uprooted lives and dreams, love lost and rediscovered, kindly strangers, failed marriages, child abuse, addictions, secrets and lies, where nothing appears like it is on the surface.”
Really I could not put it better for this preppy read. And if you still want to know more, Jude did a interview with Canadian Immigration on his life, what Frost Bites is about, and how to make it as a immigrant writer, which you can read here. A short biography on Jude can be found on LinkedIn.
Currently, Jude needs help getting his book into the Library System. All you have to do is
- Go to the library
- Request a blue form book request.
- Fill it out for Frost Bites
If enough people do it then the library will order the book and then people can borrow it. Yah!
While Frost Bites normally costs $15, Jude has graciously offered a 66% off deal for his book at the upcoming North York Writers meeting. Just $5 (which is a lot cheaper than BMV) and you already have it to read before the Launch.
Wait did I mention the book launch?
