Recently the two year anniversary as primary (and only) writer for this blog has pass me by.
It started when the last writer stopped writing for it and I took over. Starting with writing advice, (which ran out pretty quick) I posted writing exercises I use myself, then I wrote about literary events and wrote book reviews. The experience has been great, and I can say the goal of writing two blog posts a month has done a lot for my writing ability.
However I can’t be the only writer forever and feel someone else should contribute. Two reasons why
1. North York Writers is a group not an organization: By being an group, there’s no one person or few that’s calling the shots. North York Writers only survives by the active participation of you guys. It’s also not fair to be the “North York Writer” when I miss most of the sessions anyways.
2. I am burning out: Pro-tip guys, DO not have a 9-5 job, take two continuing ed courses and still expect to catch up on all your writing projects. Not unless you want to be sleeping at two in the morning all the time.
So here’s what I’m looking for you guys.
Someone whose willing to write one blog post a month. You don’t have to take over, but if you would like to 🙂 from me, but dipping your toe in the pool is okay. Blog posts can be a Book Talk, Word Play, Literary News, Writing Words any category, anything you want to write about. Writing one won’t take long. Blog posts can be as little as 100 words to as much as 1000). Blog guys, it’s one of the best opportunities for a writer to hone their craft and write. You will develop your writing skill. You work will be seen. Write.
Please send a email to firstname.lastname@example.org or comment below.
(I’ll try to see if I can make it to the meeting next week, to see if anyone is interested in being a blogger.)
