Writing exercises are awesome. They provide a easy way to stretch your creative muscles and can even become your next writing project.
So here’s a exercise I often use, called the First Sentence exercise. It starts with a sentence.
“She didn’t realize that the blood would be so hard to wash off a tuxedo ”
Type/write or wrype (hey look at that I invented a new word) this sentence at the top of a page. Then using that sentence as a launchpad don’t stop wryping (this could be the next frindle!) until you have filled out the page. And by “don’t stop” I mean don’t hesitate, don’t pause to see where the story goes, don’t ever take your hands away, just wrype until you have a full page.
