Hi fellow writers
So I’ve been having a bad case of writer’s block, and in the process of applying soothing words and gentle walks in the parks to get my inspiration out of bed I realized that what I haven’t done in a while is an actual exercise. Sure ‘have ideas’ or ‘copy out books’ are good exercises, they’re lazy. It’s like tea. It feels nice while sitting on a coach, but too much and you’re getting your exercise intake strictly from running to the bathroom every 15 minutes. So what I have is a real material to get inspiration.
· Pen and paper
· A love of good writing
· A partner
So someone is going to be the scribe, I’d advise you to do so, as your partner is probably just dipping their toe in the water with you. Have your partner say a line of poetry, any good line of prose, it doesn’t have to rhyme but it has to be something that you can nod and agree that it is a prime example of English language. Write down the line they just said then you write a line underneath. Don’t show what you’ve written. Then ask them for another line. Then you write a line. Repeat until the curiosity is killing your friend. Read and enjoy.

Disclaimer: If you guys are wonder why I’ve gone MIA of late, (or at least I like to hope you do) I’m currently working as a production at Descant magazine. Send your stuff, I might read it.
p.s. I’m not sure if I’m just yelling against the wind, or these things are actually being read so if you do read it could you make some sort acknowledgement in the comments section. This will let me know if I should do these more frequently.
